When Allie and Matt met us at Amy's Omelette House I didn't know we would fall into ginger love over pigs in a blanket. These two had such warm energy so it wasn't a surprise when they said they wanted a winter wedding. They were planning their day at Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope and needed photographers that would be able to capture their wedding no matter what the weather. It was done. The pants was doing this wedding. We knew it was going to be a knockout day. Allie had mentioned doing their engagement shoot in their backyard. Ok. This could work. She didn't mention that it overlooked the river with a view of the bridge. YEAH. That was a pleasant surprise.
Speaking of surprises....Matt contacted us about 3 weeks before the engagement shoot to tell us he was hiring us for cinematography as well and didn't want Allie to know. So we brought our video gear with us to the shoot and pretended we were doing a marketing video. Lol. She was so not phased. She did however ask us if we could shoot video for them and that they had decided to add it to their package. We had to tell her we were booked for that date. I think that was the only time I ever saw a sad face from my girl. Matt was able to keep the secret up until December at which point Allie was going to hire someone else. So funny. He surpiried her by showing her the Save-The-Date Colin put together during the engagement "photo" shoot.
Winter, it's cold and sometimes dark and dreary. However, this wedding was the furthest thing from sad. Emotions ran high and the energy was off the charts. Allison had such an amazing way of just letting the day roll on out. The schedule just sort of fell into place and we had so much time to be creative and do our thang. There was a hint of snow in the beginning of the day which kicked us into mode. These two braved the cold and because they were so relaxed we were able to produce some pretty steamy portraits.
